Martin Luther King
The school thinks that we should have school on Veterans Day to learn about it, but on Martin Luther King Day we don't have school. Does this mean the school thinks that he is not important enough to learn about, or do they think that we should go celebrate him in St. Louis? My opinion is that we should learn about him in school because it gives us more of an opertunity to know about him.

Athletes Over Academics
Division 1 public schools are spending much more money on sports than things for education. Top football teams have increased spending per athlete by 51% to $92,000. The education system has only increased 23% to $14,000. In 2010 per athlete spending reached $100,000. Schools are spending much more on athletes. Click here to read the whole article

Volleyball
Today I'm writing about my volleyball team. We are called Festus Crush. Our team is very small. We only have 7 players, and they all go to Festus. The colors of our team are blue and black. Our first tournament is this Saturday. We have to get there at seven thirty in the morning. I hope we win, but you never know how your first tournament is going to be!

Dear Mrs. DeBolt:
I like your class. My favorite thing to do on a computer is typing. I'm happy that you don't give homework. I'm also happy that you show us how to do everything before we try it on our own. This is one of my favorite classes.
The compound/complex sentences are kind of easy. They are also time consuming. I'm also writing those in writing. I'm happy that we had all week to do it. My favorite sentences are compound-complex.
I used to be a slow typer. Now I type a lot faster. Last year I played a typing game in computers. One time I beat my whole class in the game. My teacher gave me a prize. Again, I really like your class.
Sincerely,
Breanna Patek

Past Times
The girl in the photo is thinking about her past. She is popular in her school, but she feels like no one understands her. Every morning she looks in that mirror and thinks about her life. She thinks about good times and bad times. After that she puts a smile on her face and heads off to school.

Softball
I play select fastpitch softball. My team practices three times a week and sometimes it's hard for me to finish my homework and have free time on those days. My new team is called the Stl. Stingers. We are teal and black. Since I'm a pitcher, I have to take pitching lessons every other Thursday.
